We’ve previously described Danil as a queer indie-pop wizard and as being akin to a modern-day Dave Gahan, so it’s fair to say he’s pretty highly respected around these parts! Based in the picturesque town of Künzelsau, Germany, Danil has been on our radar ever since his debut single ‘These Thoughts’, but today I’d like to introduce you to his brand new tune ‘Ok With Me’.
A dreamy and synth-filled track, there are elements of new-wave and alternative dance scattered throughout. It’s an upbeat, empowering, and deeply honest piece of music that also just happens to be incredibly infectious and catchy. Danil’s vocal performance, once again, is riveting, as he displays a compelling blend of passion and authority that is beginning to set him apart as a rising star.
“In a world in which many feel entitled to judge us and our lives and to press us into moulds and norms that we don’t fit into,” says Danil. “My song ‘Ok With Me respectfully says – I need you to be “Ok” with me. Thank you.”
