Pop music can break or make an artistic career. Crafting the perfect topline, write a relatable song, that’s not for everyone. For Californian singer and songwriter Daniela Galasso, those are all natural qualities. Debuting last year with ‘Sirens’, she’s been showcasing a big attitude for opening her heart over a piece of music, allowing listeners to find solace and empowerment in her words.
Following up from ‘Yesterday’s Story’, ‘Sway’ is Galasso’s latest record. Focusing on a more refined and modern brand of poignant pop, the single marks the road to her upcoming debut EP. Introduced by a charming acoustic guitar, the track makes its way around electronic beats and light keys, providing the perfect background for Daniela’s evocative, intense vocals. There’s a certain soulful quality in them, perhaps enhanced by the lyrical matter, focused on enjoying happy times with people you love.
Recalling the process behind writing the single, Galasso describes: “The song came together so organically bc I found myself thinking about all my favourite things: the joy of dancing, playing & singing classic songs, and being around the people I love…it was really fun to create this record and now it’s impossible to listen to it without feeling happy.”
