Dance the Misery Shares Comeback Single ‘Too Shy’

A long time in the works, ‘Too Shy’ signals Dance the Misery’s comeback to the music scene, after a few years of artistic hiatus. 2020 saw the Nashville-based creative releasing an evocative and edgy EP, ‘Bad Feelings at Night’, a record that made instantly clear the potential for growth embodied by the project. Now, three years later, Dance the Misery returns with ‘Too Shy’, a nuanced and wholesome gem with a slightly dark character.

It’s fair to say that the project has evolved quite a lot since its inception, both in its lyricism and sonic qualities. While sharing the same melancholic indie and rock character, there’s a touch of further nostalgia in it, together with more complex and layered arrangements. The result is an authentic and original piece which we are confident will connect with a larger audience.

‘Tie Down’ it’s also out in the world right now, a new track that confirms the darker direction pursued by the project, also mirrored in its lyrical matter. An outlet for personal experience and societal hardship, Dance the Misery puts particular importance on the literary content. As he explains: “For me, music is ultimately about the song. Music is a vehicle for the expression of the song”.
