Dan Szyller Navigates Through Space with ‘Interstellar (Voyager 1)’

There’s something unique about ‘Interstellar (Voyager 1)’. A cathartic and transformative slice of music goodness, the track seems to be transcending genres in order to find its right sonic identity. The result is absolutely impressive, featuring luscious rock-flavoured guitars on top of electronic textures and soundscapes, taking the listeners into unknown yet rewarding territories. Spoken words help create a rather compelling musical universe, showcasing the extent of Dan Szyller’s artistic prowess. A gifted musician, Szyller hails from Brazil but he’s currently based in France.

‘Interstellar (Voyager 1)’ is taken from Dan’s last year’s album, ‘The Celestial Immigrant’. That’s what some of us would call a concept album, back in the day. Exploring the universe, both on a micro and macro scale, the record oscillates between drama and empowerment, while featuring a veiled theatrical and cinematic flair.

‘Interstellar (Voyager 1)’ closes the album with a dedicated piece to the Voyager 1, a space probe launched by NASA on September 5, 1977, as part of the Voyager program to study the outer Solar System and interstellar space beyond the Sun’s heliosphere. It all feels very epic and evocative, really delving into the idea of universal space and otherworldly influences.
