Daffodildos Debut with Ferocious Punk-Rock Anthem ‘No Pride’

Hailing from the LGBTQIA+ capital of Brighton, allow us to introduce you to the dynamic new act of queer-punk renegades known as Daffodildos. A band that admittedly doesn’t take themselves too seriously, their music begs to differ. Intended to provoke thought and inspire change through its bold sonic expression, their debut single ‘No Pride’ fearlessly addresses the commercialisation of Pride.

“I wrote ‘No Pride’ when I was on a bus in London during Pride Month and saw shops, banks, police cars with rainbow flags,” says vocalist and guitarist Emily Flea. “I was like…what does this have to do with Pride? They’re not with us, they’re against us!”

Highlighting how Pride celebrations overshadow the ongoing struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community with power and ferocity, ‘No Pride’ is a pulsating offering. It’s an easy-to-love punk classic that exudes resilience and defiance – demanding attention and challenging the status quo.

Having already graced the festival stages of Greenbelt, Bearded Theory, and Rebellion, Daffodildos’ sound is clearly resonating and being well-received. They’re undoubtedly an act worth keeping an eye (and ear) on, and we can’t wait to hear what they offer up next! Onwards and upwards for this gifted bunch of musicians!
