While ‘Electronic Wow’ is certainly not a record for everybody, the keen, fringe listeners will find it highly rewarding and enlightening. Courtesy of the talented creative mind of American musician and composer Pete Sahaidachny, the record navigates blissful electronica, leftfield dreaminess and a certain avant-garde boldness, making for an aural experience that’s hypnotising and charismatic.
Over seven peculiar and diverse pieces, ‘Electronic Wow’ seems to be looking for a reaction from the listener. While at times it prides itself in long soundscapes and abstract textures, at others it jumps straight into more complex, beat-driven matter. This creates a stark contrast that reflects onto the user – constantly oscillating between introspection and sensory overload. Creative Vibration is the moniker Pete uses on this occasion – and it does fit the brief.
Speaking about the inspiration behind such a visionary record, the American talent explains: “The ethos behind the album is to look inward to find connection and purpose in life, along with a sense of groove”. You’ll have plenty of time to reflect on that, delving into ‘Electronic Wow’.
