Cosette Gobat Shares Beautiful New Tunes ‘In My Bedroom’ and ‘Telephone’

When you’re signing record deals and touring the East Coast at just fourteen years old, you clearly have something pretty special going on. Now a few years older, the London-based Philadelphian Cosette Gobat gifts us two new singles in the form of ‘In My Bedroom’ and ‘Telephone’. Thematically, both songs deal with the profound issue of depression, first from the artist’s point of view and then from a friend as she awaits their telephone call. It’s such a clever and innovative idea, and it works an absolute treat!

‘In My Bedroom’ sees Cosette using her dynamic vocals to full effect, as they blend effortlessly with lo-fi aesthetics and some crunchy guitar work. The strings in the distance are absolutely beautiful, and add an extra layer of dreamy shoegazy goodness to proceedings. ‘Telephone’ continues in a similar sonic matter, but this time Gobat allows her vocals to take more of a backseat and live on the periphery of the tune.

All I can say really is that these are two incredible tracks from a singer/songwriter of the highest order. Cosette Gobat is a master of her craft, and I can’t wait to dive further into her discography. Here’s to many more!
