Introduced by some pretty mesmerising sampling action, ‘Good Shit, Babe!’ proceeds with a rather traditional and wonky hip-hop beat, managing to capture an eclectic vibe that’s sort of multi-genre, at least in its sonic outlook. Quite experimental too, at least concerning the curated sound design. Corwin‘s laidback, lazy vocal delivery is the perfect match for such a playful musical picture, even descending in dream-pop, lo-fi territories together with an edgy guitar riff.
Over what could look like a casual production, the Los Angeles resident lets us take a peek into his own romantic experience, telling the euphoric, positive tale of a relationship slowly changing him for the better. It’s an inspiring, empowering song that’s bound to connect with all of us; happiness and growth, is that not what we all aspire to?
Speaking about the record, Corwin explains: “It’s a slice of life: new grey hairs, creeks overflowing, difficulties around spooning. We get a quick peek into a much longer love story”.
