Circumstances in life can change. Our experience can overtime evolve from challenge, grief and pain to a brighter and more hopeful outlook. That’s just part of being human, accepting the flow of life. Corbin Dooley knows it well, having explored a difficult healing process in his previous album ‘Western Trauma’. Now, a year later, the Los Angeles-based creative finds a new perspective, unveiling his latest effort ‘Sweet Bird of Freedom’. Not what would you expect from the project, that’s for sure. We are glad Corbin managed to improve his tone though, with the single being an uplifting, summer-ready, dance-inducing anthem.
The single is part of an upcoming full-length offering, ‘Rocksteady’. The ethos behind the new album will be a renewed look at the same events described in ‘Western Trauma’, just with a more positive take on it. ‘Flowers Candles Weed’ and ‘Catalyst Moment’ also stem from the same collection of material, showcasing the kaleidoscopic nature of the upcoming album.
Produced and mixed by Nick Poortman, and mastered by Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge in NYC, ‘Rocksteady’ will be available on all streaming platforms in July 2023, preceded by multiple singles, and distributed via Bikiniwax Records.
