Come Along Frankie Bird’s Campfire

Ella Mulliri

Oh, how we love the campfire’s light warming up a friend’s get-togethers on a summer night! If you do too, you will like it even more with ‘Campfire’ by Frankie Bird in the background. You choose: you can play it on Spotify or strum along with your guitar, or both – there isn’t a more strum-able song than this one! You’ll enjoy it because it’s honest, lighthearted, and the singer’s voice will hit you softly but surely.

This indie tune has a simple yet bold feel to it typical of brit pop, delivered with a candour that reminds us of The Cranberries. Campfire comes after Frankie’s 2021 first single Younger Dreams, which comes after years of playing in pubs in Reading – where she grew up – inspired by artists along the lines of Oasis and The Beatles.

That inclusive sound of pints of ales and good times is exactly what we grasp through Campfire, a fierce statement of being your true self and not letting anyone change that, an important truth to unveil at 22. Sometimes direct boldness is exactly what you need in a song, a sing-it-as-it-is musical broadcast that goes straight to your heart, passing through the ears and going back out as a melodic humming.
