Collect Call Shares Bright Jewel ‘Talking Slow’

‘Talking Slow’ kinda echoes its title. Exploding into a colourful, kaleidoscopic sonic outlook, the track also feels quite sleazy and chilled-out, casually taking Collect Call’s vocals into heavenly territories. If dreamy, indie pop and light electronica are your thing, ‘Talking Slow’ will grant you good times. Built on organic drums, jangling guitars and a dark-sounding synthesiser, the record particularly flourishes in the chorus, with its anthemic, evocative and majestic character. If you were on the fence about the project, you’ll be turned. Collect Call feels as solid as it could be, perhaps aided by the cultural richness often found in Brighton.

The British seaside town has been one of the UK’s indie capitals for a few years now. Perhaps it’s the slow life that many enjoy while living in it, or – on the contrary – its buzzing weekend nightlife. Wherever the reason, Brighton seems to be a receptor for talent, as Collect Call proudly shows.

Taken from the project’s upcoming EP, ‘In a Lilac Evening’, ‘Talking Slow’ feels like the perfect anthem for the tail-end of summer, inviting listeners to really live every moment to its fullest potential.
