Usually, British bands carry themselves across the pond to record music in New York, Nashville or Los Angeles, This time around though, it’s a talented guy from Kentucky deciding to record an entire EP at The Animal Farm studios in London! Hailing from Louisville, Clyde assembled a backing group and made the trip overseas, penning a record that’s actually incredibly good and vibrant.
Built on euphoric and meaningful indie stylings, ‘The London Sessions’ includes four tracks, each one with its quirk and magic. Opening with ‘The Traveler’, the EP starts with heightened introspection, embarking on mellow guitars and nostalgic lyricism. ‘The Writer’ picks up the pace, offering a punchier yet relatable rock gem. ‘The Pilot’ expands the sonic picture a fair bit, using spacious guitar tones and external textures.
‘The Poser’ completes Clyde’s musical evolution, ending with a glorious and poignant anthemic outro. That’s the most ballad-like song on the record, also showcasing the elegance attached to the American artist’s vocals.
