If you have yet to discover the sparkling synth-pop of Bristol-based act Clemencie, where on earth have you been? Gabriel reviewed their cracking debut single ‘Formal Wear‘, and I am honoured to introduce you to ‘What If One Day He’s You?’, the band’s sophomore tune. Mastered by legendary Grammy-winning engineer Shawn Joseph, Clemencie perfectly describes their new song as a “scream-in-the-car kind of track”. Vibrant, energetic, and cathartic, it’s an infectious little number that demands to be cranked up and sung along loudly to!
Thematically, the band delves into the complexities of coming-of-age, growing into one’s own skin, and the romantic tales of love and heartbreak. They also reach the realisation that self-criticism cannot aid in healing from the pain caused by others, hence the aforementioned cathartic and almost cleansing nature of the tune.
Gabriel labelled Clemencie the “new hot band on the block” and I couldn’t agree with him more!
