We’ve been following the budding career of New Jersey-based singer/songwriter and producer Clay Joule for a while now. At the end of January, we waxed lyrical about his cinematic masterpiece ‘Realm’, and now the musician marks his return with a deeply personal tune entitled ‘Drifters’. Penned during Joule’s second journey through homelessness all the way back in 2001, the artist invited musical theatre vocalist Elise Mammoliti to join him on the new track. Returning to his classic rock and bluesy foundations, Clay and Elise have constructed a beautifully rich, thoughtful, soulful, and layered song that addresses the growing global issue of homelessness.
“Don’t judge people for the choices they make when you don’t know the options they had”. The message and inspiration for ‘Drifters’ could not be any more clear. What I love about Clay, and what draws me to his music, is that he realises the importance and impact of his words. He uses his messages for good…for change…and, ultimately, in the hopes of a better world.
‘Drifters’ is another beauty that Joule should feel proud of adding to his ever-growing discography. His tunes are starting to rack up some serious plays on Spotify, and I’m intrigued to hear what he offers up next!
