Cigarillo Create an Ode to parenthood on ‘Bacon and Eggs’

Marc Garnett (Australia) and Ben White (England) make up the musical duo that is Cigarillo, and just recently they dropped their fifth single in the form of ‘Bacon and Eggs’. An energetic, lively, and infectious tune, ‘Bacon and Eggs’ was written after the birth of Garnett’s second child, and serves as a memory of his feelings around that time. “Yeah we know, in our home, that life’s never been better than this,” he sings.

Heavily influenced by the post-punk and 90s Britpop sound, Cigarillo combines seriously melodic indie-rock with clever and witty lyricism to match. “Think Blur, Pulp, Suede, Madness, and The Smiths,” they say. What I’m loving about Cigarillo is that, though they have clear and hearable influences, they’ve managed to produce a soundscape that is genuinely their own.

‘Bacon and Eggs’ is one of the catchiest odes to parenthood that you will ever hear. It’s honest, real, and relatable. It’s also the final taster from the band before they release their long-awaited debut album ‘Deodorant’ on November 18th. Produced by the band and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Pixies, Katy Perry), it’s sure to be a winner!
