chloe moriondo gears up for upcoming album with ‘hate it’

Moving towards her upcoming album ‘oyster’, out March 28, indie-pop darling chloe moriondo has unveiled her latest single ‘hate it’, a crepuscular, romantic and obscure bop steeped in personal experience and challenging thoughts. Born out of a particularly painful breakup, the song finds its dimension in the inescapable hold of lost and unattainable love, something that feels cruel and crushing, yet it’s such a vital part of life.

Perfectly framed into the upcoming album’s themes of reckoning and tumultuous growth, ‘hate it’ reflects its gritty and coarse nature in the rowdy, punchy production, packed with vibrant synth tones and relentless, giant drums. Speaking further about the single, moriondo explains: “It encapsulates all the feelings of jealousy, hatred, and obsession that can come with a crush on someone unattainable – or yearning for a life that feels unattainable.”
