Switching sonic lanes from his punk rock roots to a more Americana and country-esque approach, ‘1919’ is the highly-anticipated new album from California-based artist ChiodoSupply. Deciding to showcase his more soulful, introspective, and thoughtful side, ChiodoSupply (Damien Chiodo) taps into a rich blend of genres and influences to piece together one of my favourite new albums of 2025 so far!
‘City Train’ is the record’s soulful opening and features stirring melodies and superb storytelling, before the raw and tender sounds of ‘Broken’ step up to the plate. A tribute to lost fights and the heartbreak of losing a friend, it’s a tune that tugs at the heartstrings and speaks to universal experiences.
‘Rebel Song’ is one of my personal favourite tracks from the album, and sees Chiodo deliver a stripped-back and heartfelt performance that hits all the right notes.
‘Roll’ is another absolute beauty, and while I’m not sure who’s joining Chiodo on vocals on ‘Better Than We Used to Be’, the interplay adds a magical layer of depth and emotion.
The remaining five songs are yours and yours alone to discover. Linger along the shorelines, dip your toes, or dive straight in. The choice is yours…but you know our recommendation!
