Chayne Shares Latest Effort ‘Don’t Make Me Laugh’

Taking mainstream goodness back to more authentic ‘electric’ and glitchy territories, Chayne is on a mission to reinvent contemporary pop, infusing it with unmatched boldness and fierce lyricism. Debuting last year with ‘Number One’, the talented young songstress has now unveiled her latest effort, ‘Don’t Make Me Laugh’, a vibrant tongue-in-cheek anthem standing against emotional manipulation and unsincere attention.

Packed with a fuzzy, groovy livery, the single evolves with a galloping flair towards its catchy, loud chorus, with Chayne’s brilliant, luscious vocals creating a curious contrast with the darker instrumental. The songwriting is effective and quirky, with long notes and tender melodies making for a heartwarming, playful listening experience. Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, the British artist explains: “‘Don’t Make Me Laugh’ is about how sometimes the people closest to you aren’t completely honest and might blur the truth to their own ends. I think it’s called manipulation, ha ha!”

At just 17 years old, Chayne appears to be en route to becoming someone special. Having grown up between England and France, she is perfectly bilingual, allowing her to truly explore pop avenues with a global outlook. It all makes sense, as ‘Don’t Make Me Laugh’ has an elegant side too, something that’s likely to come from France’s eclectic, kaleidoscopic music scene.
