Described by Cerys Georgina herself as ‘a song you can dance to’, ‘DO YOU?’ doesn’t pretend to be overly meaningful or elegantly poignant; instead, it delivers two minutes of pure pop euphoria, playful and catchy songwriting with a keen eye on contemporary tones and relatable imagery. Teaming up with producer Scott Rowe, Georgina is adamant about having found her sound, and if ‘DO YOU?’ is anything to go by, we are in for some stunning records!
Hailing from London, the British songstress has already announced an upcoming EP, including her next single ‘UNDER THE BRIDGE’. Embracing a brighter pop outlook, Cerys also delves into human consciousness, echoing the constant quest for attraction and validation in a romantic context. ‘DO YOU?’ does a good job of mirroring the exciting, slightly doubtful feeling of wondering whether a romantic interest has a matching interest.
As Georgina herself explains: “I wrote ‘DO YOU?’ in the summer last year. I think we can all relate to that feeling of ‘do they like me back?’, this could be a friend or someone you like – I think wanting to feel accepted and connected is not an unknown.” There’s a lot more to come from the talented creative – stay tuned!
