‘ocean blue letter’ is a wonderful discovery. Wrapped into a hazy, spacious sonic livery, the single is as hypnotising as it could, favouring long soundscapes, minimal beats and bucolic female vocals. The result is a liquid, dreamy and luscious piece drenched in a charming, evocative aura. If you are a fan of shoegaze, dream pop and leftfield, you are bound to resonate with it, and frankly, melodies are so gentle and welcoming that we suspect they will appeal to a rather large audience.
An impressive effort, ‘ocean blue letter’ is the debut record of a mysterious project, CERULEAN SAPPHIRE. We know that it hails from the magical Nordic territories, a collaboration between Danish and Finnish creatives – but we don’t know much else, increasing its gloomy and magical aura. A debut EP (‘soft attention’) is expected for Spring 2025, and we can’t wait to hear it!
