‘London’ is the brand new single from Dutch singer/songwriter Cas Du Pree, and it’s honestly one of the happiest and most infectious tunes that I’ve heard all year. Joining Cas and providing trumpet on the track is Frans Rinsma, who’s not just a mean trumpet player, but Cas’ best friend too. After releasing his serious and autobiographic album ‘Getting To Know Me’ last year, the musician wanted to carve a new sonic path on ‘London’. “Now it’s all about joyfully searching for my own personal style,” he says. “Creating music that I would want to listen to myself”.
The song has been wonderfully described as genre-fluid, as Cas allows himself to go where the music takes him, regardless of popularity or commercial trends. It’s this fearlessness to explore that, I believe, has resulted in a tune that is deeply immersive and captivating. I can’t stop myself from putting it straight back on every time it ends!
While the artist does cite heavyweights like Celine Dion, Elton John, Sam Smith, and Dua Lipa as inspirations, there’s a clear commitment to prioritise his authenticity and artistic integrity. That has to be applauded in today’s climate, and we are supremely proud to be able to champion a true, genuine musician! We just hope he has more new music up his sleeve!
