Carson Ferris Shares His Inner Fears in ‘Talkin’ to You’

Writing about young pop sensation Carson Ferris, not long ago, we asked ourselves: “he possesses the lyrical force and vocal punch of a mature songwriter, a quality that makes us wonder: is he going to get better and better from now on?” it turns out, he is getting better. Unveiling his latest effort, ‘Talkin’ to You’, the American songster showcases an incredibly catchy record, blessed by his near-perfect vocals and a songwriting that’s as relatable as it is memorable.

Built on contemporary pop tones, ‘Talkin’ to You’ is certainly melancholic and introspective, stacking meaningful lyricism against a punchy and bubbly production. A truly chart-topper offering, the single is a bright promise towards Carson’s future, which now looks set for glory. At just 13 years old, we are expecting big things from him.

Written as a Halloween-related episode, the song delves into what’s scary for Ferris, only to find out that’s not exactly ghosts and witches… as he explains: “Talking to You is a song about the scariest thing possible: telling the person you like that you like them. It’s super relatable because the fear of rejection is something that everyone has felt in one way or another.”
