‘One’ is a pretty unique piece, at least in the way it shifts its identity and intensity continuously, a quality that showcases (and confirms) Carl Kammeyer’s artistic magnitude. The American songster crafts a poignant and intimate piece that balances pop and EDM influences, going from understated, poignant sections to more pompous and anthemic hooks. Kammeyer’s vocals are particularly nuanced, warm and passionate, showcasing a certain Folk energy, at least in the verse.
In terms of production, ‘One’ was recorded at Ossico Records, under the guidance of Luke Stephen Beyer. The attention to detail and expert production shines through, allowing the song to flourish and fully express its heartfelt message. The seamless fusion of pop and electronic elements creates a contemporary sound that is both familiar and innovative.
Draws to music from a young age, Carl was pushed by his mother towards musical prowess, something he soon would embrace as his main passion and endeavour. It shouldn’t be a surprise then, to observe him become such a talented and complete singer and songwriter.
