Carδamo Returns with Sweaty Club Banger ‘Cat & Mouse’

There’s been a measurable amount of hype around Carδamo recently. Championed by BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar Bingham, among others, the talented British voyager appears to have stumbled upon a fierce, quirky and relatable formula, blending house, techno and pop influences into a playful, euphoric concoction of sound. ‘Cat & Mouse’ is the perfect evidence of that. Carδamo’s latest effort, the single benefits from the project’s eclectic, fierce character, further augmented by Carδamo’s bold and proud LGBTQ+ identity.

Let’s analyse the track in more detail: it’s truly hypnotising, with a tight, striking and bouncy groove that carries a certain minimal flair too. It brings to mind the likes of SOFI TUKKER, among others. Yet, the British creative’s vocals are way more haunting and gloomy here, delivered with an unapologetic attitude and limitless confidence. Overall, the feeling we get while listening to ‘Cat & Mouse’ resembles being in a tiny, sweaty London club, flirting with sultry dancers around us.

Gearing up for a mixtape to be released later this year – including old and upcoming singles – Carδamo’s future is looking brighter and brighter. Delving deeper into ‘Cat & Mouse, they explains: “The song reflects on the freedom and joy of nightlife, embracing self-expression in the face of judgment.”
