Camila Knight Returns with Empowering Anthem ‘Satellites’

Having witnessed Camila Knight’s career unfolding into a serious pop contender, we are fairly familiar with her relatable, charming songwriting and evocative vocals. The keen reader might remember us writing about ‘Journey’ not long ago; now, she is back with her latest effort, ‘Satellite’ a fierce, uplifting gem that feels like a definite step-up, the progression of a talented creative into a solid pop force.

In the song, Knight takes a break from her usual intimate, poignant material, instead building an anthem of empowerment aimed at her fellow women, urging the listener not to let negativity influence their decisions. In a rather upbeat instrumental, Camila channels bright synthesisers, groovy guitars and modern electronic drums, crafting a piece that feels celebratory, almost cinematic. Crowning it, we find Knight’s usual dynamic and luscious vocal tone, very precise and malleable.

Delving into the lyrical inspiration behind ‘Satellites’, the young songstress explains: “It’s a song to scream at the top of your lungs. It’s a movement. An awakening. To a realisation that you’ve got the right to choose what’s best for you, not following the accepted social standards. It’s about finding the positivity in your life and striding away from negative people and toxic relationships.”
