To us, Camens look unstoppable. The Stoke-on-Trent rockers have been on a musical rollercoaster in the last year or so, releasing a series of electrifying, nuanced singles with a distinctive indie character, often drenched in darker tones and alternative flair. The British creatives now return with ‘Confetti & Kalashnikovs’, an uplifting, relatable and catchy gem that seems to indulge into slightly poppier territories… with that we mean mainly the songwriting, the melodies and the track’s structure, quite playful and memorable. Sonically, Camens still rely on fuzzy guitars and distorted drum tones, a perfect match for the group’s dynamic vocals, delivered by Scott Powell with charisma and confidence.
Taking from the band’s upcoming album ‘WORK/LIFE/BALANCE’, ‘Confetti & Kalashnikovs’ is yet again a convincing offering from the English outfit; their quality is certainly paying off, judging by the increasing number of listeners they are racking up on streaming platforms.
