A hyperpop and electronica specialist, Caezar has been rather productive this year, unveiling a series of singles including Holda Sek’s ‘OVERSTAY’, which we previously featured here on Mesmerized. ‘lean 2 me’ – Caezar’s latest effort – delves into darker and more cryptic territories, blending ethereal, spacious female vocals (courtesy of Imogen Barnes) with Burial-like dark textures and liquid D&B grooves.
The result is an otherworldly, forward-thinking gem that once again redefines Caezar’s goalpost. A sonic visionary, the Berlin-based talent has certainly benefitted from the German capital’s leftfield reputation: something that’s instantly apparent in his music. ‘lean 2 me’ also features Caezar’s own vocals, a surprising reminder that the upcoming creative is also a good musician.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, he explains: “It’s about the way relationships are evolving in our digital age—how technology can both connect and divide us. I wanted to capture the confusion and vulnerability that comes with trying to find a genuine connection in a world where everything feels so transient.” Look out for the project’s upcoming album ‘deepblue’.
