Brynovsky Shares Hypnotising Album ‘Dub Section’

We get it, a dub instrumental album is not for everybody. Not everyone is bold enough to allow themselves to get lost in a sea of spacious, euphoric sonic material, modulating percussions and long textures. In our case, we do carry the name Mesmerized for a reason: we are not afraid to delve into obscurity and leftfield territories. Enter ‘Dub Section’, an album that’s as eclectic as it is abstract, yet retaining a certain punch and sharpness.

The latest effort by British sound alchemist Brynovsky (aka Tim Jones), the record takes the listeners on a pure, unfiltered dub journey, drawing from the best tradition yet looking at the future. A playful and hypnotising blend of afro influences, reggae rhythms and trip-hop allure, embarking on long instrumental themes with dancehall-powered elegance.

An experienced producer and writer, Brynovsky sources twelve sonic fragments from older material and B takes, repackaging them into an intense dub livery. The final result does not disappoint, with the Scottish musician finding the right balance between relatability and artistic fierceness. After all, there’s a reason why he was praised by the likes of BBC 6 Music and Fresh on The Net…
