Bring Prudence is the musical project of Ukranian-born singer/songwriter Oleh Zaychenko, who is currently based in Brooklyn, NYC. His brand new single is a stunningly beautiful tune called ‘Summon the Ghost’, and it will feature on Oleh’s upcoming sophomore album ‘Dreamboat’. Making use of a Balinese gendèr, a metallophone instrument used for significant ceremonies, and the Brooklyn public library’s out-of-tune piano, Zaychenko produces a full-bodied and nostalgia-laced track that serves as a tribute to the power of memories.
Teaming up with former Pursued By a Bear bandmate Julia Brown (Barrel Flash) on backing vocals, Bring Prudence gets contemplative and reflective on ‘Summon the Ghost’. “I’ve known a few people who have left this world,” says the musician. “This is a song about them”. The partnership of Zaychenko and Brown’s vocals works an absolute treat, and they complement each other perfectly!
I really cannot fault ‘Summon the Ghost’ in any way. It’s pure, genuine, and as authentic as they come! Bring Prudence’s ‘Dreamboat’ is due out on the 7th of April, and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the full album.
