There’s not a lot we can write about Bree Rusev, and not for the motives you think. You see, her artistic output should instead be experienced in real life, rather than sourced from a third party. Packing her music with soothing energy and immense charisma, the young Australian songstress is well on his way to becoming a global folk-pop phenomenon, a title that might sound pompous but that’s also well deserved.
‘Summer Memories’ is the strongest evidence of that: Rusev’s latest effort, the song builds its evocative and bubbly character on a feathery acoustic guitar and Bree’s luscious vocals, slowly raising the intensity with a full-blown acoustic arrangement. Before you know it, ‘Summer Memories’ reveals its true identity: an uplifting and nostalgic anthem with tons of relatability and wholesomeness.
Produced by Garret Kato, the record is the latest in a series of charming singles unveiled by Rusev this year. For a project that’s already been championed by the likes of Triple J Unearthed and Ear To The Ground, the future looks immensely bright. Stay tuned.
