Born Astray are a New Orleans-based alternative rock act who have just dropped an emo-filled and punky new single called ‘Dangerous’. Not ones to hide behind a facade, Born Astray hold nothing back on the track and, before you know it, you’re immersed in a riffy, gritty, and nostalgia-laced banger. Imagine a house party in America, filled with teenagers and extremely loud music. What song’s playing you ask? ‘Dangerous’ by Born Astray.
The tune will form part of the band’s upcoming debut album ‘Kinsey Six Genesis’, an album that thematically addresses the challenges faced by Cody Pala (vocalist) due to his coming out in late adolescence. A feeling of lost teenage years, and the need for a second coming-of-age so to speak. “The album encompasses what it’s like to feel like a juvenile making questionable choices in adult clothing,” says the band. “All while facing a younger version of yourself”.
‘Dangerous’ is one of those songs that sounds strangely familiar despite the fact that you’ve just heard it for the first time. I always find this to be quite a special and unique experience. With their debut album scheduled for release in the spring, we must admit that we have high expectations for ‘Kinsey Six Genesis’. We’re also certain that Born Astray won’t let us down!
