Bonneville Pay Homage to the Muscle Shoals Sound in ‘Lady of the Tennessee’

Bonneville seem to have found strength in sticking to tradition and simplicity. They are not reinventing the wheel – rather, they are perfecting it. Exuding a strong Southern Retro Soul character, the American duo has successfully found a community of vintage enthusiasts, flooding the airwaves with authentic and wholesome soul rock grooves and fuzzy steel guitars.

Also championing an eclectic flair, Bonneville include a wide variety of instrumentation, from classic guitar-laden arrangements to more playful forays into uplifting horn sections. ‘Lady of the Tennessee’ is the project’s latest effort. Taken from their upcoming second album ‘Flying Machine’, the single provides a charming and fiery take on southern and classic rock (think Lynyrd Skynyrd), with equally catchy and grounded songwriting and unfiltered vocals.

Jeff Hayashi and Wes McGee are the talented humans behind the project; celebrating the famous Muscle Shoals Sound, they explain: “This song encompasses our pilgrimage to Muscle Shoals and is the embodiment of our experiences making music there thus far. We really believe Muscle Shoals to be a magical place.” As a plus, the record is also available in Dolby Atmos.
