We are pretty up-to-date with Blueburst, Atlanta-based experienced rocker with a modern outlook and meaningful lyricism. Having featured him in our publication a few times already, we are pleased to see him finally releasing the record he’s building towards the past year. ‘Significance’ packs eleven tracks into a shiny alt-rock package, one that’s not only razor sharp and highly addictive, but also of particular relevance for its author.
You see, Blueburst – also known as Craig Douglas Miller – just ended a twenty-year-long hiatus from music, a period marked with personal problems and health issues. ‘Significance’, as the name suggests, carries a significant step in Blueburst’s career and personal experience. It’s his artistic comeback, something that needs to be celebrated and highlighted.
Boasting a dense, electrifying and modern sound, the record also benefitted from the collaborative work of Marty Willson-Piper and Michael Jerome, giving the album a competitive and contemporary outlook. Frankly, it reminds us of a vintage Dave Grohl, and we are confident he’s got the same creative fire burning inside of him: that’s what personal motivation and the desire to evolve do to you.
