‘Daisy and Dandelions’ is a ridiculously sweet and beautiful new single from a Stockholm-based indie artist who performs under the moniker of Blue Painted Flag. Laced with nostalgia and emotion, ‘Daisy and Dandelions’ is a dreamy and atmospheric tune that showcases just what Blue Painted Flag is all about. A wistful guitar intertwines with quiet, whispery vocals, and the track slowly builds itself up into a little indie-rock gem. I absolutely love the musician’s vocals, they’re wonderfully warm, distinctive, and inviting. In fact, everything about ‘Daisy and Dandelion’ is warm, distinctive, and inviting.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that Blue Painted Flag is a master at evoking a certain kind of feeling with their music. The track’s airy instrumentation, combined with the hushed vocals, creates a sense of longing that is both palpable and poignant.
I get a Red House Painters vibe from ‘Daisy and Dandelions’. Perhaps they’re an influence on Blue Painted Flag’s sound? Either way, I’m so excited to have stumbled upon his music.
