There’s a lot of good stuff in Blitz Playhouse’s latest EP. Previously praised by us thanks to their “theatrical flair together with luscious and mysterious imagery”, the London-based shoegaze and alt-rock outfit unveils ‘Behind The Veil’, a dark yet intriguing stream of dreamy, spacious guitar tones and obscure female vocals. Tracks such as ‘Deep’ are rather vintage in their songwriting quality, wrapping a tight instrumental production into the occasional ambient noises and the ever-present cowbell.
Title track ‘Behind The Veil’ showcases how gloomy and cathartic Blitz Playhouse’s vocals can be. Defining themselves as a “transatlantic four-piece”, it is clear that the group has a lot of potential.. We’ll be following them closely!
