Blindness & Light is the musical project of Anglesey-based artist Colin M Potter, and he’s just released his beautiful and cinematic new single entitled ‘The Tannhäuser Gate’. Described by the musician as his “homage to dystopian sci-fi”, the tune takes on an ethereal, floaty, and shoegazy vibe. Potter draws on inspiration from a wide variety of acts; The Smiths, Joy Division, Radiohead, and Echo & the Bunnymen to name a few. As for his moniker, he explains that it “actually comes from Licht und Blindheit (Light and Blindness), which is the original release of ‘Atmosphere’ by Joy Division.” Wanting to put a more positive spin on his name, he switched the words around.
