In our previous feature for Blackpool Mecca, we had very encouraging words towards the project. Not hard to see why: hailing from Nashville, the American group is as energetic and dynamic as it can, sharing a sharpy and catchy sonic character with a certain coolness to it. Writing about ‘Pavement’, we proudly declared it “A fierce, vigorous and fuzzy record, as vibrant as one could wish for”.
Well, after hearing their latest effort, we can certainly say there’s a pattern there. Picking up the same anthemic lyrical vein, ‘Loud’ features a massive chorus, instantly ready for future any arena shows the band might have – it won’t be long, we are sure of that. Perhaps a touch more nostalgic and emotional, ‘Loud’ still features the same fuzziness throughout, although with a slightly more chaotic sound overall, something that gives the record tons of originality.
Speaking about the track, Blackpool Mecca explains: “‘Loud’ has a wildly unique backstory. It began as a late-night instrumental demo by guitarist Kris, which inspired lead vocalist Baxter to write the lyrics in a flash of creativity. The band has performed the song live for years and finally brought it to producer Jared Corder at Polychrome Ranch in July 2023.”
