We quite like what we hear. Introducing the Bingo Boys, punk outfit emerging from Indianapolis. Debuting in 2020, they have showcased a unique take on the genre, providing material that’s fast-paced, lo-fi, and with an authentic, raw character. Their latest effort, ‘Donuts’, continue in that exact direction. Like the band’s other records, it is pretty short, coming up at just one minute and 54 seconds. Despite its length, the track manages to hit the listeners right in the face, leaving them with energy and charisma. What’s more, the group’s production quality seems to be improving a lot, with The Bingo Boys offering a more nuanced sound – although still channelling a strong lo-fi imprint.
Made up of Carter (drums), Noah (bass) and Gus (guitar/vocals), the group has been making waves in the local music scene, combining influences from the likes of Jay Reatard, Ty Segall, The Chats and Oh Sees. Having recently joined Radio Cake Records, they seem to be on an upward trajectory. It doesn’t surprise us: Bingo Boys is a project we can happily get behind. Their musical output is fresh, relatable, digestible, and pretty unique.
Quickly gaining momentum in the local punk scene, we expect them to hit international recognition soon enough. In the meantime, you could be one of their first international listeners: get on the boat, you won’t regret it!
