After a busy 2022, the Edinburgh-based talent now returns with what feels like a confirmation, another gem in an already jam-filled catalogue. ‘Heaven’ is Billy Got Waves’ latest effort, a charming journey into the Scottish artist’s personal universe, made up of leftfield rap productions, ethereal tones and textures, intimate beats and a deep-rooted lyricism, constantly exploring personal experiences and the way he deals with them.
Lyrically, ‘Heaven’ seeks to recall the first time he met his girlfriend, a passionate and admiring love anthem. As Billy Got Waves explains: “Heaven” is an ode to the first time I laid eyes upon my girlfriend, thinking I was witnessing a goddess live in the flesh.”
