Billie Fitz Returns with Hazy Synthy Goodness on ‘Skipped a Beat’

Illinois-based musician Billie Fitz is a young artist with big dreams and an incredibly bright future in front of him! Just a few weeks ago, he released the dreamy and contemplative single ‘Poets’, and now he’s returned with yet another stunner in the form of ‘Skipped a Beat’. Serving as the second single from Fitz’s upcoming debut album ‘windowpane’, the tune is certainly more upbeat and energetic when compared to ‘Poets’. It still, however, maintains that hazy, synthy, signature sound that only Billie knows how to pull off!

The artist draws on inspiration from a wide variety of musicians and acts – Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Kate Bush, Omega Trible, and Tatsuro Yamashita to name just a few. It was his love for the late band Her’s, however, that prompted him to make contact with the band’s producer, who agreed to work with Fitz on his album.

‘Skipped a Beat’ is one of those songs that feels strangely familiar despite the fact that you’ve just discovered it. Whenever this happens, I always find it to be a rather special and unique experience. With his debut album scheduled for release on November the 7th, we must admit that we have high expectations for ‘windowpane’. We’re also certain that Billie won’t let us down!
