‘My Only One’ was released back in 2021 by the Los Angeles-based artist, songwriter, and producer Betty Moon. We’re a little late to the party – and that’s on us! Better late than never though I always say! As for the tune, it’s a brilliantly eclectic, bold, and powerful track. Swaying between electro-pop and alternative rock, Moon showcases her versatility and, perhaps more importantly, her unwillingness to follow industry trends. With a reputation for her DIY work ethic and ten self-released albums already to her name, it’s fair to say that Moon knows exactly what she is after sonically!
Drawing on influence from a wide range of underground sounds; rock, soul, punk rock, electronic, and electro-pop, Moon infuses her own empowering style and flair into proceedings. Her authenticity and genuineness are there for all to hear, and I believe that’s why her music has been featured in a variety of massive TV shows like Californication, Dexter, Bounty Hunters, and The Walking Dead. It resonates!
‘My Only One’ is a perfect example of Moon’s ability to blend different genres and create something that is truly unique. It’s really no wonder the song has been embraced by fans and critics alike.
