Bearbonez Returns with 80s-Inspired Rock Gem ‘Don’t Look Back’

Kyle Hilmoe is the brains behind California-based music project Bearbonez and, with his second single of 2024, turns to the iconic sounds of The Cars and The Psychedelic Furs for inspiration. ‘Don’t Look Back’ is the tune in question, and it sees the artist getting deeply experimental with synthesisers, producing an almost weirdly science-fiction aesthetic.

Through deep vocals and a kaleidoscope of synths, Bearbonez crafts a track that’s a perfect balance of vintage and fresh vibes. Nostalgically reminiscent yet strikingly original, ‘Don’t Look Back’ is a hypnotising journey that captivates from start to finish.

Intent on not allowing himself to be stifled by genre, Himloe says that he “grew up admiring David Bowie and Beck for their ability to pull off these dramatic shifts in sound album to album. If I can achieve a fraction of that artistic range, I’ll be happy”.

He’s set his ambitions high, but a deeper dive into his discography showcases a musician who consistently pushes creative boundaries and is dedicated to innovation and versatility. Thriving on artistic growth, Bearbonez is a project right up our alley, and we can’t wait to hear what Kyle offers up next!
