Balint Eckhardt Debuts with Relatable Gem ‘Lucky Cat’

For Balint Eckhardt, songwriting has always been a tool of expression, a way to unload his mind of all those complex thoughts and inner conflicts – perhaps looking for some solace and comfort. That’s what makes his music so relatable, the ability to delve deeper into the human consciousness, highlighting feelings that we all go through, sooner or later. Eckhardt’s latest effort is the strongest evidence of that: focused on resisting our inner fragility and embracing the best version of ourselves, ‘Lucky Cat’ is also the project’s debut effort.

Active in London, Balint Eckhardt boasts a soothing, evocative and warm vocal tone, perfectly pairing with the intimate and wholesome indie-pop production found in ‘Lucky Cat’. The record is an unmatched bundle of poignancy, making use of electric guitars, filtered drums and veiled soundscapes. Eckhardt’s vocals are impressive, so dynamic and precise, able to explore higher registries.

A wonderful debut by the Hungarian singer-songwriter, instantly confirming his class and relevance. Explaining the lyrical inspiration behind ‘Lucky Cat’, he explains: “It’s about a horrible summer I had not so long ago that, for a while, made me look for a knife behind everyone’s back. I built this mini-monument to help me remember never to go back to the Bates Motel of my brain.”
