Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Bad Bubble appeared on our radar last year with his nuanced, emotional, and blissful soundscapes. His dreamy EP ‘Am I a Good Man’ and the avant-garde work of genius ‘An Intricate Cacophany’ were two records that blew us away. Today, we’d like to introduce you to ‘At the Age of Three’, another astoundingly beautiful piece of music Bad Bubble released on the first of this month.
With nothing more than an acoustic piano and the musician’s hauntingly vulnerable vocals, ‘At the Age of Three’ strips things down to the very core. Exposed and pure, Bad Bubble says the tune is “for those who have felt the sting of hardship, as well as those who seek redemption or forgiveness for past actions”.
Minimalist yet potent, the heartfelt track is as authentic a song as you’re likely to hear all year. And yes…I know…We’re not even halfway through January. That’s the beauty of Bad Bubble’s work though: it’s transcendent and consistently delivers moments that defy expectations and trends.
It’s an impeccable start to the new year from one of our favourite artists and, if his 2025 is as busy as last year, we’re in for a feast of innovative and moving sonic offerings.
