Writing about previous single ‘More’n More’, we proudly declared: “he’s an artist who is not averse to mixing up his sound and weaving through genres.” We stand by our words – the French wizard is now back with his latest offering, a track that seems to once again wander in the immensity of his musical landscape.
Built over dreamy and anthemic pop tones, ‘Don’t Cry’ is first and foremost a lyrical piece, aiming at empowering listeners to stay resilient and overcome any hurdle that might come their way. It is all delivered by Baaj and Baaj’s wholesome and fragile vocals, quite evocative and soulful. Long notes are preferred, giving the part an ethereal sense of poignancy.
Judging by his Spotify streaming number, the French talent is certainly doing something right. Amassing over 750k listens on Spotify alone, the project is in full blooming mode, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Don’t Cry’, he explains: “It seeks to remind us nothing is ever truly lost. It aims to rekindle the desire to fight seemingly lost causes every time the song is played.”
