Autorub Shares Playful and Witty EP ‘Women of the Right’

If you have a strong opinion on American politics, this is probably the record for you. Penned by witty creative outfit Autorub, ‘Women of the Right’ blends fierce and grunge(-y) rock’n’roll with a passionate and humorous depiction of far right’s main female figures. Coincidentally, the author of this article was reading a piece in The Guardian just a few days ago, highlighting the growing role of women in the extreme right-wing spectrum. Coincidence? I think not, sir.

Perhaps Autorub and us are on to something real here – either way, the American band is definitely classy and more poised in their approach, not resulting in insults or personal attacks, instead using art as a means of cultural storytelling. They do it well, while showcasing their acute musicianship in the process.

‘Women of the Right’ features two tracks, ‘Kari Lake Blocked Me on Twitter’, a punchy, garage-style piece, and ‘Big Girl Big Gun’, exploring a mellower, Southern-rock direction. Shout-out to Autorub’s lead vocals, charming and evocative, the perfect match for such playful material. A genius project for genius minds. Recommended!
