Reading the story behind Mister Co.’s debut effort ‘Tonight’, we were pleasantly surprised. Emerging from Melbourne, the talented duo got married very recently, writing the track to be sung during the ceremony. Well, it turns out that when you put together two gifted musicians and producers, only good things happen. And so it did. ‘Tonight’ had such poignancy, such positive and inspiring force that Mister Co. decided to release it to the public, starting a new journey that – from what we have heard so far – seems to have limitless possibilities.
Connor and Oscar Absolum are the humans behind the project. The couple has an extensive background in music, with influences ranging from theatre ballads to rock operas. In Tonight’, the pair seems to settle for a classic pop sound, favouring gorgeous vocals and strong lyricism.
On such strong premises, it is hard not to imagine what could be next for Mister Co. The single has such eclectic flavourings, from cinematic goodness to 60s surf sensibilities; the keen listener will find it relatable and positive, connecting to the wholesome message of love and commitment carried by the song.
As the Australian creatives explain: “Our story is that we are an actual love story. We met in high school where music was the foundation of our relationship. We were from two different worlds, yet music is what led us to find each other.”
