It’s not often that you come across an artist who can blend country, rock, and pop seamlessly, but that’s exactly what Swiss talent Aura Davis has done with her latest release. Following up on previous EP ‘Emotionally Unvailable’, Davis showcases her artistic maturity through ‘Hearts Don’t Bend’, a majestic slice of country-flavoured rock, drenched in pop lyricism and relatable stylings. Reiterating Aura’s incredible prowess for crafting catchy hooks and memorable melodies, the record is bound to create a sort of addiction – in the sense that you will not want to stop listening to it.
How could you? Channelling the glorious country-rock sound of the ‘2000, the record is as poignant as they come, perhaps nostalgic too. But it’s not just the arrangement that makes ‘Hearts Don’t Bend’ so powerful. Davis’ lyrics are drenched in life experiences, touching on themes of love, loss, and the struggles we all face in life. It’s a perfect blend of introspection and infectious energy, making for a track that’s both thought-provoking and fun.
