Audri Unveils Latest EP ‘Sugar for the Flies’

A quick look into Audri’s artistic universe reveals a talented creative with a sizeable following, quite a surprise given the seemingly accessible and DIY vibe of the project. She’s clearly doing something right: with a combined streaming count surpassing the one million mark, Audri deserves our and your attention. Active at the border between rock, pop and folk, the Seattle-based songstress pens material that feels nuanced and evocative, oscillating between moody euphoria and flamboyant brightness.

‘Sugar for the Flies’ is Audri’s latest EP, a collection of songs that delve into cinematic and anthemic territories, both sonically and lyrically. Perhaps orientating more towards the project’s rock aesthetic, the record makes ample use of distorted and gritty guitars, the perfect accompaniment for such eclectic and genius storytelling, drenched in personal experience and theatrical fiction.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Sugar for the Flies’, Audri explains: “The theme for this EP is ‘two sides of a coin’ – or how things aren’t always as they appear. I have already released four EPs and noticed over the years my songwriting has slowly shifted more towards a rock sound. I wanted to make an EP that fully embraces the rock elements in my songwriting.”
