I’m not going to lie…I’ve been seriously looking forward to sharing ‘GENESIS’ with all of you lovely people! Courtesy of London-based, Albanian-born artist Arxivn, the six-track offering is a smorgasbord of sonic delight. Described by the musician as a “rebirth” and “the beginnings of something new,” his latest EP fuses hip-hop, afrobeat, pop, rap, and even a little jazz thrown into the mix. Let’s dive in.
‘Enemies Rise’ gets the ball rolling in a melancholic and immersive fashion, as Arxivn takes the listener on a deeply personal journey through hardship and determination. ’20ft Ceilings’ then steps up to the plate with a bold and explosive energy that sets the pace for the rest of ‘GENESIS’. And, as for Arxivn’s vocal and lyrical prowess, well it’s simply a masterclass in blending raw emotions with inventive storytelling.
‘Pivotal Games’ takes a more laidback approach compared to its predecessor, before ‘Origami,’ a tune that features AAurelius, brings forth a colourful afrobeat vibe that is utterly irresistible.
‘GENESIS’ finishes with ‘Tip Toe’ and ‘Devils Armour’, two songs that unveil the final layers of Arxivn’s rich and compelling new sound. Savour them, absorb them, and relish in this genre-blending adventure.
